One of the best purchases

"One of the best purchases I’ve made in a while. Just got back from a fly fishing trip out west where we fished the south fork of the snake, silver creek, and wind river canyon. It was nice to just refill my bottle any time I needed to trip on water tethering than having to go to the truck for it. I was filling up everyone else’s bottle to the point I think I am buying all my friends one"

I typically write my reviews

"I typically write my reviews based on reward systems from manufactures/sellers. However, I decided to go forward and write a short one on this cup. Overall, the cup is fairly nice. Some mild taste to the water, but not terrible like others I have tried. I really like the one way valve that comes with this item. I do wish I would have spent the little extra and got the new version so I could boil some water in it. I think that cup would be a great cup to review. The instructions are relatively easy. Fill the cup, apply steady consistent pressure, and then you have a small cup of filtered water afterwards. The green color I ordered, I really like. It has blended in with the rest of my gear and has found a home on the bag for the time being. The cup is a little pricey for what it is, but so far it has good results. I hope to one day try the titanium version."

It’s a fantastic product, with

"It’s a fantastic product, with an elegant and straightforward design. It is on the heavy side, but now I carry it instead of an extra water bottle and filter. It’s also a lot more convenient in urban settings when travelling than any of the squeeze-type filters."

quick bait and switch

"So as I was checking out the total said $76. 38 so I proceeded to push the ok to buy I got 2 notice from my credit card company say charged for $76. 38 then another one of $78. 16 so I look on my statement and it says Grayl charged me twice and then refund me the $76. 38 but charged me the higher price of $78. 16. so why the bait and switch? say one thing do the other?"

I really like this product,

"I really like this product, easy to use and the water comes out clean and tasting great. I tested it in a trailside puddle alongside a logging road and it worked great! My only concern is that it can be a little difficult to get apart and push down, Not for me but for my wife who is much smaller. Other that that I love it,"

Richard P. (4/5)

Difficult to pull apart

"As a woman with normal size hands (not large) I found it extremely difficult to pull apart. I managed to get it apart 2x after several attempts each time. The 3rd attempt I gave up after pulling so hard the lid came off but the bottle didnt separate and I actually hurt myself in the process. That was it for me, had to return it. I can see this would not be an issue for men or women with larger hands though. But there should be some explanation about this in the description so people can understand this better before purchasing."

Great bottle for hiking or kayaking

"I do alot of kayak camping, and this one cup has replaced 2-3 gallons of water being packed. Has freed up significant room on my pack. I took off one star but the claim is 8 seconds, and 30 seconds means its getting clogged. Its a solid 30 seconds even when new or recent. It takes time and muscle to make it work so be aware of that."

Pressing down and pulling out to refill!!!

"Pressing down and pulling out to refill. It can be tough, requiring a little extra strength pulling out, pressing down not too bad. But when pulling out to refill, can be strong 💪 to pull out. I mean great product and concept. But I wouldn’t buy again, sorry. Do to being hard to pull out to refill."

Stanley R. (2/5)

Too tight, but works well!!

"The bottle itself is built very well, and the filtered water tastes good, mostly flat, but slightly mineralized depending on where you live. My only issue is that it’s very hard to pull the filter out after drinking the filtered water because of the vacuum effect and the tight gaskets. Technically, those components are doing their job well by preventing leaks, but I wish the designers had included a release mechanism to improve the overall user experience."

Sthitapragna E. (2/5)

Excellent filter and bottle

"I bought it on the recommendation of friends, and because I love the OD green. The only downside for me is having to open the mouth piece to filter, I wish there was some type of one way valve to release pressure as you press. Everything else about it is perfect though, rugged, durable, effective"

Q&A

Is it possible to buy the new outer cup with the bevel by itself?
Yes, we have a full assortment of replacement components available on our website.
What’s the difference between nature and covert?
Thank you so much for reaching out. Nature and Covert are just collections of different colors.
I feel like I already know the answer but… I have a geopress and I thought the filter was dry so I reassembled the bottle. 1 year later (today) I pulled the cartridge out and it’s still damp. Do I need to replace it? If I filter a a bunch will it clean the filter or do you think bacteria has grown?
Thank you for reaching out. Because the filter was stored damp for such an extended period of time, you will need to replace it before continuing to use your Grayl.
Will it filter sulfate out of water?
At this time we currently do not have any testing data related to the removal of sulfate.
Does the GeoPress come with a filter/purifier cartridge, or is that sold separately?
Every Grayl purifier bottle comes standard with a purifier cartridge preinstalled.
