Reviews

Great product!

"We use this when we travel anywhere, even domestically, and want to fill water bottles from sink faucet. The water tastes great and has no “chlorine” taste to it like most water does, which is one way I know it’s working! It works well, but does leave a little residual water in the unfiltered canister no matter how much I push down. Not a big deal I just discard it when finished filling bottles. Wish I would have bought a bigger one. Definitely still considering it. Highly recommend."

Leaks

"I own this product and a few months ago replaced the filter. Since then, it has leaked. I contacted customer support and they wanted a video of the leak but unfortunately, it is slowly seeping through the filter and it isn't really visible in a video. I'm a fly fishing guide and it leaks so much that when I bend over to net fish or do something else, it ends up getting me wet. They apparently are no longer willing to help me since I can't provide a video. I'm not impressed."

Can't seem to get help through customer service.

"This is my second review because I'm unable to respond to how they responded to the review which was completely inaccurate and false. If they had any desire to help me with the situation, they would have through the 20 back and forth I did with customer service. I purchased this at a local retailer. When it was time for a new filter, after I installed the filter my Grayl started leaking and it hasn't stopped. I reached out to customer service to get some help to try and figure out what was going on and they stopped helping me because I can't provide a video of the leak. The reason is because it's a slow leak and the video doesn't show anything because it's seeping through the filter to the outside. They say this might be normal because I may not have some sort of valve but I asked Travis with customer service what that was and never got an answer. It never leaked before I changed the filter so I honestly don't think that's the issue. I'm just looking for some help which I have yet to receive."

YUMMMMMMM

"I bought my UltraPress Purifier for overlanding and hiking. But now I also use it at home. I am on a well and my water is “safe” but has a ton of minerals that do not taste good. I have a whole house filtration system and another filter on my spigot. The water still isn’t tasty. I filtered it with the UltraPress Purifier and it is a game changer! It tastes sooo good! You also do not get that weird filter taste. I 10/10 recommend. I not only would recommend it. I already have to all the people on my well."

Michelle B. (5/5)

The best and most functional water filter you can take on any adventure.

"Small size and low weight make it perfect for hiking, and the bright color adds extra visibility!"

Loving it so far! Traveling

"Loving it so far! Traveling in parts of Eastern Europe where they say the water is ‘safe’ to drink but why chance it. The Grayl 16oz bottle is the perfect blend of ease of use coupled with small size. In less than ten seconds we can get fresh filtered water from virtually any source without fear of bacteria or other bad things. Very happy with my purchase!"

Jeff B. (5/5)

My third Grayl

"I like the Grayl and trust it as a purifier. My one complaint is that the seal between the two main pieces eventually goes bad and then when you try to pour out the clean water, the unpurified water from the bottom chamber drizzles out with it."

Exactly what I wanted

Perfect for travel!

"I travel for work and often find myself in hotels without access to clean, good tasting, bottled water. I don't trust the tap water many places I frequent, and those that do have sanitary water it often tastes horrible. Enter Grayl. It's the perfect solution to my dual safe and good tasting water problem. Very happy with my purchase and the 16. 9 oz size fits perfectly into my backpack!"

Q&A

Wil the 16.9 ultra press purify city water in Rio de Janeiro and other Brazilian cities
Grayl purifier bottles provide worldwide protection 😎️
I noticed the Grayl filters out a lot of things. Is there anything known to Grayl it doesn't filter out that I might find in well water, water in lakes, streams or rivers?
Thank you so much for reaching out and great question. The most notable contaminants that Grayl purifiers do NOT remove are salts/minerals, tannins, and cyanobacteria (toxins from blue/green algae). For more information, please feel free to reach out directly to our customer service team at info@grayl.com
I am traveling to Thailand. We will be staying in small hotels, but I understand the water is sketchy. Can I use this non-stop for three weeks? How long do you have to wait after pressing the water until you can drink it? If the clean water sits in the geo press overnight, is it still ok? Can contaminants leak back in?
Water is ready for drinking immediately after pressing. You can also drink it next day - after filtering, a Grayl functiond the same as any standard water bottle. Your Grayl will be perfectly functional for your three week trip. Just make sure to follow the cleaning and storage directions once you return.
I like REALLY cold water. Does the titanium version help keep the water cold?
No, none of our purifier bottles have any type of insulation type properties.
How much does the Ultrapress weigh?
The 16.9oz UltraPress® Purifier weighs 12.5 oz (354 g).
