Best tasting water!

"I love my Grayl water bottle and filter. As an avid hiking, it’s indispensable. It’s easy to use and lasts a long time. I even tried it in nasty tap water with great tasting water as a result. It is a great product!"

Great for travel!

"We originally bought the Grayl Geopress Purifier for our backpacking and camping trips. Lately, we've taken it on all our travels - whether in the US or out of the country. Having the Geopress saves us from having to buy expensive airport or hotel bottled waters. Wherever we go, we have access to good tasting, clean water! We decided to have an extra cartridge on hand since we've been using the purifier so much!"

Great product

"World travel is my passion. Reliable, clean drinking water is a must! My Grayl water bottle has been with me to 30 odd countries leaving no plastic bottle waste or stomach issues!"

Geopress Replacement Filter

"Finally had the funds & a Discount to try this out. . . The Sawyer Squeeze Filter & CNOC 2L/3L are my go to, for Price & water sustainability, where you need several Litres of water per Hour. . . So for day to day use, the Grayl System, is a good option, but can't replace the time a Sawyer saves!!! Get the Price of the Filter down to $10 & it would be more feasible!!!"

Poor performance

"I have used this filter for the Great Divide MBR New Mexico towards Banff. Initially I tested once in Scotland then used it for 8 days (8 gallons?) before the filter blocked too hard to continue using. Sales in th US kindly sent me two free replacement cartridges. I appreciate that gesture. I have used the first replacement cartridge for 11days (16 gallons) and already it takes 1min 20 seconds to press with as much body weight as I can use. Additionally now about 3/4 of the way down on the press I get a squirt of water in exactly the same spot inferring that the outer container has distorted due to water pressure. Honestly I think this is a poor design and needs a lot more development. Destined for land fill shortly in my opinion sorry. As a bonus at least I have not been ill so as a filter it works just way too slow and with no back flush hopeless."

Amazing bottle

"Love the geopress. I have a geopreas titanium and use the French press for it all the time. Filled my geopress directly out of lake Victoria in Kenya, streams in Honduras and well water in Africa. Works awesome. I have never been ill since I started using it. I filter local bottled water as well. Amazing product. I go everywhere with it."

Make it titanium

"Why is the bottle titanium but the cartridge plastic? Take that outer black plastic cartridge casing and make it into a titanium casing that opens and closes with a threaded opening. And make the inside filter medium replaceable by itself. Now you don’t have to make a new plastic casing with every cartridge, just sell the inner medium as a replacement without the casing. Let us get the titanium casing so we can buy it once and keep reusing it and washing it while switching out only the inner filter medium. This would reduce our exposure to plastics in the treated water and would also reduce your manufacturing costs and waste footprint since you don’t have to make a new casing for each cartridge. And it would make the product actually premium. There’s no reason for someone to get a titanium bottle if the cartridge used to treat the water is still plastic, might as well just get the whole bottle as plastic. And I don’t buy grayl because I want plastic. I want titanium everything. No shortcuts. I don’t appreciate cost cutting measures and I’m actively looking for another product to switch to so I can stop buying this, unless the issue is fixed and the plastic is eliminated."

Q&A

Hi, I live in Switzerland and have just realized that there are two different models available for the geopress purifier filters and I was wondering if they are both original parts. The one model is the one shown on your page where the openings for water are arranged in groups of 6 horizontal slits. In the other one the openings for water are arranged in groups of 3 vertical slits. I just don't want to pay for some cheap copy of your product which is labeled with grayl. Thank you for your help.
Thank you for reaching out, and great question. The filter with the vertical ventilation slits is a first generation filter, while the one with horizontal slits is second generation. They are functionally identical in every regard with the only difference being that the second generation filter is also compatible with the one way drink mix valve.
Is the inner press, top, and outer shell dishwasher safe?
All bottle components (besides for the filter), should be handwashed with warm water and soap.
Hi I was wondering if these filters are freeze safe for cold climates? If the water freezes in the bottle with the filter is the filter safe to use?
Thank you so much for reaching out. They are perfectly functional after a single freeze and thaw cycle, but are not viable after multiple freeze and thaw cycles. Precautions around freezing only apply to wet filters.
I see you no longer sell the blue filters, the ones that only treat for taste. Will you be bringing them back or are you strictly selling the purifying filters only?
In addition to being a purifier, the current cartridges are also filters. Meaning, they also improve taste (odor and color) as they are loaded with ultra-powdered activated carbon.
What is the difference in the orange filter and the black one? Other than color.
Thank you so much for your question. There is no difference between orange and black replacement purifier cartridges other than for the color.
